Effects of Silsosan on the Intravascular Coagulation induced by Endotoxin in Rats

Abstract
This study was performed to investigate the effect of Silsosan on the intravascular coagulation induced by endotoxin in rats.
The intravasular coagulation was induced by injecting endotoxin in the caudal vein of rats. And these rats were treated with extract of Silsosan 1.0mg/200g(Group I) and Silsosan 2.0mg/200g(Group II) , which were administered orally. Then the
numbers of
blood cells, concentration of fibrinogen and FDP(fibrin-fibrinogen degradation products) were measured.
@ES The following results were obtained:
@EN 1. The number of red blood cells decreased in the trial group compared with the control group, but it is not significant.
2. The number of white blood cells decreased in the trial group compared with the control group, but is not significant.
3. The number of platelets increased significantly in the Group II compared with the control group.
4. Prothrombin time was shortened significantly in the Group I compared with control group.
5. The concentration of fibrinogen increased significantly in the Group I compared with the control group.
6. The degree of concentration of FDP decreased significantly in the trial group compared with the control group.
According to the above results, it is considered that Silsosan has the significant effects on the thrombosis. Therefore Silsosan seem to be applicable to the diseases related to the thrombosis.
